The Tallulah Rose business skills 5 day course
The Tallulah Rose Flower School are opening up the business skills module of the 4 week course to anyone who is either in business already and is need of a refresh, or for those with technical floristry skills but little or no business skills training.
This 5 day course can accommodate no more than 10 students, some of whom may be enrolled on the 4 week career course.
Leading the course are Rachel, Tallulah Rose Flower School director and event florists Saffy who has her own floristry businesses here in Bath.
We invite experts in their professional field to come to the school to offer you advice in their relevant business field. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the course curriculum.
Course Details: Price: £1000 (inc vat) per student. 2014 Dates: November 17th - 21st
Day One: The House Business Brand Agency lecture on the importance of branding to your business. Each student will create their own branding boards, present them to The House and receive feedback and guidance. This exercise is ideal for you if you are at the beginning of your business branding or if you are looking to rebrand your business. It may be a while since you launched your business and your branding ideas may have changed, as it sometimes does over time.

Day Two: A tour around New Covent Garden Market with Rona Wheeldon, an award winning flower blogger. You are introduced to suppliers who deliver nationwide. We have a break and time to look around the market before reconvening for a lecture on social media with Rona. If your business launched prior to the introduction of social media then you will find this lecture invaluable, you will place yourself ahead of your competitors simply by being active on social media.
Day Three: Accounting and business banking. We have representatives from an accountancy firm and a high street bank to give advice about the financial side of your business. It gives you the opportunity to ask questions of both institutions, gaining insights prior to launching your business. If you already have your own business, you will find this useful in terms of learning how to gain the most from your existing accountant or business banking system.
Costing - we guide you through a costing formula and discuss mark-up and profit percentages.
Competitive shopping - you will learn the importance of knowing you're customer. You will visit local florist shops and carry out a competitive shop.
Day Four: Business planning. Whether you are launching a new business or have an established business, having an up to date business plan is essential. Whether you are seeking external funding or whether your business plan is only for internal use, it's vital to your business success. We break down the business plan section by section, enabling you to understand the information required to go into your plan.
Website workshop - using an easy to use software platform we show how to build you own website (for free!) The Tallulah Rose Flower School website was originally built this way along with many of our previous students too!
Day Five: An inspirational guest florist speaker and demonstration.Previous speakers include Robbie Honey, Green and Gorgeous and Common Farm flowers. This inspirational day gives you an insight into the speaker's business, allowing you to listen to their story warts and all! This is an informal day allowing you plenty of time to ask questions.
