The Tallulah Rose Advanced Floristry Skills Course New for 2014
The Tallulah Rose Flower School is launching an advanced skills course aimed at those already in the world of floristry seeking new inspiration and new challenges.
Designed with professional florists in mind and those that have completed our own four week career course, the advanced skills course will take students to the next level and give them both the technical know-how and confidence to design and direct large scale event floristry.
This four day course can accommodate up to six students who will work together as an ‘event team’ and take on various large scale challenges out on location around Bath and the surrounding areas.
Leading the course are Rachel, Tallulah Rose flower school director and florist Saffy, who brings with her over twenty years of experience directing large events with companies such as London’s Rebel Rebel. We will also be working alongside a professional photographer to ensure students get beautiful photos of their work in order to strengthen their portfolios.
Course Details: Price: £1850 per student 2014 Dates: October 20th – 24th
Day One: On-location Church Flowers. The course kicks off with a day of traditional wedding flowers. We will be on-site in a beautiful church creating abundant designs on a large scale. From formal arches to interior details – you will learn all the technical skills you will need to quote for traditional weddings with a large floral presence.
Day Two: On-location & at the School rooms. The word here is pure opulence and with a combination of venue dressing and time spent in the Tallulah Rose school rooms you will be challenged to design and construct truly opulent table flowers. From elaborate candelabras to long and low table arrangements, we will create a complete table-scape which will then be photographed professionally to capture the detail as well as the overall scale and effect.
Day Three: School room Scale & Height. We will teach you how to create the wow factor and construct large scale flower trees. This day is all about creating show stopping designs and thinking outside of the box to create something truly unique and imaginative using fresh flowers and gathered materials such as sumptuous fabrics and linens.
Day Four: On-location Event Flowers. Using all of the newly learned skills from the past three days, students will be set a challenge to design and install a complete venue dressing for a virtual, time-bound event. This is an invaluable learning curve and will allow students to experience what it is like to work as part of a larger freelance team at a big event in terms of organisation, co-ordination and of course practical floristry.
